Fireworks, Races and Festivals

Being beside the Thames means that there is always plenty to watch and aspire to. The great Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race starts at Putney Bridge each year and a number of other important annual rowing events choose Putney as their venue. The Dragon Boat race is always fun each year and it is not unusual to find seriously unusual or eccentric oarsman, boats or armadas passing by your home.

Fireworks dominate November and Riverside Quarter residents can watch both the spectacular display across the river at the Hurlingham Club or that taking place for all in adjoining Wandsworth Park. For the culturally inclined there are Artist Open Houses and a variety of concerts for the jazz and classically minded, and in all the parks from Battersea to Wandsworth Common, events occur with mouth-watering regularity.
